Dance with a Difference – Thursdays

Dance With a Difference – Mondays

Tap Classes

Tap uses movement which is the fundamental mode of human expression. It enables participants to enjoy physical expression as well as develop intellectual sensibilities. It helps to improve the shaping of movement, improves balance and strength and also improves eye – foot co-ordination.

This is all happening without the dancer knowing as they are having so much fun.

Please join us every Wednesday from 6pm till 7pm

DWAD at Britain’s Got Talent!!

On Tuesday the 30th of October, Dance with a Difference was invited to Birmingham to  audition for Britains Got Talent. We decided to take 9 of our wheel chair users and do our dance routine that we danced to in our show.[I AM WHAT I AM] Despite our early start, 5am we all had a very exciting and memorable day. We arrived at 9am and we were taken straight inside so that we didn’t have to stand out in the cold, nothing was too much trouble for them. It was great fun watching all of the other acts practicing and we danced and clapped along with them. Then at about 11am we were called in to dance our routine in front of the producer, we were all very nervous, but he made us feel very special and wanted to know all about us, our performance wasn’t perfect but not too bad, he said that it was very inspirational and thanked us for coming. We all had a great day that we will never forget and fingers crossed that we get through to the next round, we will keep you all informed. Here are some pictures of our very exciting day.

“Our Chance” Show Success!

Here are some pictures following our show “OUR CHANCE” on 26th November at the Cripps theatre.

This was a great success we sold 380 tickets and there were 52 people performing, they all had a special part to play, from Darren Lock performing a mega mix to Michael Jackson and Hazel and Joe did an amazing dance to Lady in red. And not forgetting Bobbie and the west life crew who sang, you raise me up, this was a real tear jerker.

Everybody worked really hard and the whole show went off brilliantly. The audience were fantastic they danced and sang along with us throughout the whole show, they laughed along with us and at us, and also shed a few tears. We had fireworks going off and glow sticks to wave and for the big finally we had confetti coming down; it was a very emotional and exciting day and one that we all will never forget. Our thanks to everyone involved for making the 26th November 2011 a very special day.

Fun Day a Great Success

Dance with a Difference would like to thank all those that attended our fun day on Saturday 20th August. Despite some changeable weather, we had a decent turn out and we managed to raise a total of £508. This money will now go towards costumes and pyrotechnics in the show in November!

Amongst the attractions was the bouncy castle, a fantastic home made cake stall, face painting, games and a tom, bola stand which had a tempting array of alcohol on it from Lambrini to Champagne!

One of the most popular attractions on offer was soaking the staff and the boss who were in the stocks.

Finally Dance with a Difference would like to thank Overtone Manor for the use of the ground and the hospitality of their staff.
